Sharks vs 495ers Round 3

On March 7th, the Sharks Elite Team looks to secure two very important points in the standings when they host the rival Long Island 495ers. This is the third and final regular season match-up between the teams. With a season record of 3-1 against the 495ers, the Sharks must be sure not underestimate them. The match-up does not feature the Sharks or 495ers Minor teams. In place of the Sharks minor team will be the High School Roller Hockey League of Long Island (HSRHLOFLI.com). Come see the elite of Long Islands High School roller hockey as the JV All Star game begins the night at 6pm. Following the first Sharks game will be the Varsity All Star game.

The visiting 495ers are coming off a two game split with the Massachusetts Mulissha. With 18 goals and 16 assists, Jonathan Mosenson, will be a player to watch. Goalie, Craig Bradmerkel, has a 5.05 Goals Against Average and 5-4 record.

The Sharks are coming from a tough 2 wins on the road against the New Jersey Nightmare. March 7ths game will not feature power forward Kenny Baldwin Jr. (8G, 10A) or defensemen Darren Guerriere (5G, 6A), both are suspended for fighting majors. With two key players suspended, Coach Ken Baldwin expects his team to overcome the absences. With star caliber players like Rob LoPinto (10G, 9A), who has 3 game winning goals and playmaker Rob Mannino (9G, 7A) the Sharks will remain competitive tonight. Sal Caputo, who has been solid in net all season, looks to remain that way with an 11-1 record, 47 Goals Against and a 3.41 Goals Against Average. He is 3-1 lifetime against the 495ers with 13 Goals against.

With wins in both games, the Sharks will edge closer to first place where the Boston Swamp Rats currently sit. The Swamp Rats are 6 games ahead of the Sharks in the schedule, and Sharks are chomping at their tails.
